Jennifer is a native of Olympia, Washington and a graduate of University of Washington (B.Sc. in Earth Sciences and Oceanography, 2006) and Arizona State University (Ph.D. in Geological Sciences, 2011, Ph.D. advisor: Ariel Anbar). Her PhD research focused on the coevolution of metal availability and the nitrogen cycle through Earth history.  Jennifer is currently a NASA Astrobiology Postdoctoral Fellow and Postdoctoral Scholar in Geobiology working with Victoria Orphan at the California Institute of Technology researching metal availability and biosignatures in marine methane seeps. In August 2013, Jennifer will start an assistant professorship in the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Georgia Institute of Technology.
